Making a home “livable” does not end after construction or renovation.  You have to clean it, re-decorate it, maintain it and what not.  I grew up in a “transforming” home.  Every now and then, may pagbabago, be it with the arrangement of the furniture or additional rooms.  Our home in Naga has undergone several renovations/extensions.    Yan ang "bisyo" ng mga magulang ko. The latest was the construction of koi pond and grotto.    No. We do not  have a grandiose home but we have a decent home.  Considering that shelter is one of  our basic needs, my parents prioritized building a home over eating out or buying branded stuff.   Back then, I never experienced  wearing branded clothes  or eating out every weekend. In my previous post, I told you that our home sweet home is the fruit of hard work (my husband’s…I never consider myself as a hardworking kawani) and frugality.   But, truth be told, it’s also the fruit of stress and discussions.   Renovating our house was ten times stressful than planning our wedding.    Perhaps because during the wedding preparation,   Dan, my husband gave me the general power to do whatever I want. He only had one request…no dramatic vows.   Generally, I   made all the wedding related decisions.     On the other hand, during the renovation, we were both hands-on (perhaps because we were both excited).   I bought Real Living  magazines and browsed internet sites for inspiration.   My husband consulted his friends for suggestions.    Being two different individuals, our ideas most of the time clashed.   I wanted white kitchen cabinets and he wanted black.   I wanted pink or lavend...

At long last, we have already moved-in to our home sweet home.   Thank you Lord. I am sooooo grateful!   I am extremely happy.   I cannot put my happiness into words. Ah basta.   Lol. So, welcome to our humble abode! This is our kitchen and dining area. Excuse the mess! I'll post a better picture in the future.  I'm just so excited to share.    Our living room. As part of our weekend routine, my husband and I visited the QC condo unit.   The lavatory was already installed.     And unfortunately, my husband didn’t like it.   He was so annoyed that even  good food and movies failed to change his mood.   I was just quiet the whole time he was having his “tantrums”.   However, when we got home, I felt the need to say my piece.   Me: Keri naman yung lavatory.   Perfectionist ka kasi kaya mabilis kang madisappoint. Dan: Hindi naman. Pano mo naman nasabing perfectionist ako? Me:   See, nag-asawa ka ng perfect! Ayun, lalong nainis! Lol Keri naman, diba?

Our home sweet home is I think 90% done.  Every weekend,  my husband and I visit the unit to check things out and to find out whether or not the contractor conforms with our agreement.  Last Saturday, we were so kilig.  They've already painted the rooms. You must be wondering what happened to our home sweet home .   I think I haven’t posted an update for the longest time.   I wanted to.   Honest.   It’s just that I didn’t want this blog to be a space for disappointment.   But, I am okay now. Everything is okay now.   Thank you Lord.    The initial plan was to move-in before the end of 2013 but the unit was not delivered on time. Tsk.   So, we re-scheduled the renovation this January.    We encountered another glitch.   Getting a renovation permit was also not that easy.   Well, we understand that we need to submit the requirements.   After all, it’s for the safety of the unit owners.   But, what we couldn’t understand is the permit’s processing time.     Imagine, we were told that it would take one month.
